

The University Recreation and Wellness Center Expansion project will be closing Beacon Street between Harvard and Walnut Streets on Friday, May 18 from 6:00-10:00am for a major concrete pour. This pour will require the use of a pumper truck with outriggers that will block Beacon Street entirely in order to reach the highest level of the URWC expansion. A flagging crew will be at both ends of Beacon to maintian traffic flow and to direct concrete trucks staging. The University Scholars Walk will remain open at all times during this operation. The Learn to Swim (LTS) Program provides individuals with a solid foundation of water safety knowledge and skills. LTS features a variety of knowledgeable and responsible instructors who create a fun and exciting environment for individuals of all ages that want to learn how to swim.

The Provost's Scholarship Open, hosted by the Department of Recreational Sports and the University Golf Course, is a golf tournament to benefit students of the University of Minnesota by raising funds to endow student scholarships. Karen Hanson, Senior Vice President for Academic Affairs and Provost, invites you to join her in this day of celebrating our students and assisting with the effort to provide additional scholarship support.
