COA offers camping trips, horseback riding, rock climbing and many other opportunities to venture out and enjoy the Minnesota landscape. Space is limited and spots are filling fast. The Fitness programs offers Instructor Training for individuals with a passion for fitness and a dedication for helping others. The Instructor Training program consists of 40+ initial hours of formal classroom and studio training, including: basic exercise science, teaching techniques, cueing and choreography, safety and injury prevention, and an introduction to specialty classes. Spring training sessions are available for Personal Training, Group Fitness Instruction, and Spin Instruction.
Believe it or not, summer is just around the corner! Recreational Sports offers youth camps each summer for children ages 5-15. Mix and match your camp choices week by week as desired. Weekly camps in a variety of topics are divided by four general categories. Camp registration opens on Friday, February 10.
This 50-minute introductory workshop will cover the fundamentals of kettlebell training. 3-5 fundamental kettlebell exercises will be conducted under the guidance of a personal trainer. This is not a progressive class. There is a one-time $8 fee (per class) payable at the Cashier's Office in Minneapolis. Please bring receipt to class. All spring semester Group Fitness classes will be free from January 23-29. Stop by the University Recreation and Wellness Center or St. Paul Gymnasium and try out one of the many classes available. For class times and descriptions, visit the Group Fitness page.
