INTERMEDIATE LEVEL POSITIONS

Intermediate level positions are a great way to take on more responsibility with the Department of Recreational Sports. A sound knowledge of departmental policies, programs and procedures combined with specific qualities and certifications may be required for employment. Intermediate level positions may also require a prospective employee to give specific examples of his/her qualifications for the position. All intermediate level positions require student employees to be trained in CPR, First Aid, AED, and Bloodborne Pathogens. For students that do not already posess these certifications, training will be provided by the department upon being hired.
Facility Supervisor - Minneapolis

Job Description
The Department of Recreational Sports is currently looking for a qualified individual to fill the Facility Supervisor position. The Facility Supervisor will assist in a variety of areas, including, but not limited to:

  • The facility supervisor oversees the operation of the entire facility when the professional staff is not present. They are expected to resolve any issues with members, accidents and incidents.  They should be sound in conflict resolution and management, have critical thinking skills, be a self-starter, and work well under pressure.

Job Requirements
All student employees are required to be trained in CPR, First Aid, AED, and Bloodborne Pathogens. For students that do not already possess these certifications, training will be provided by the department upon being hired. Other requirements related to the position include:

  • Competent understanding of member-management systems.
  • General knowledge of Department of Recreational Sports facilities and program offerings.
  • The set-up of various equipment
  • Knowledge computer and phone systems.
  • Competency in medical and weather related emergencies. 
  • Strong interpersonal communication skills
