St. Paul Custodial/Grounds

ENTRY LEVEL POSITIONS

Entry level positions are a great way to get started with the Department of Recreational Sports. Although previous experience in related fields is recommended, it is not required for employment. All entry level positions require student employees to be trained in CPR, First Aid, AED, and Bloodborne Pathogens. For students that do not already posess these certifications, training will be provided by the deparment upon being hired.
Student Custodial Staff

Job Description
The Department of Recreational Sports is currently looking for a qualified individual to fill the custodial position for St. Paul facilities. The maintenance and upkeep of all of our facilities is essential to the overall participant experience. The custodian will assist in a variety of areas, including, but not limited to:

  • Maintaining the locker room facilities, including vacuuming floors and general cleaning.
  • Sweeping floors, cleaning mirrors and some windows
  • Cleaning court walls
  • Other responsibilities as assigned

Job Requirements
All student employees are required to be trained in CPR, First Aid, AED, and Blood borne Pathogens. For students that do not already possess these certifications, training will be provided by the department upon being hired. Other requirements related to the position include:

  • Being able to work independently, but understand their role within the Operations Staff team.
  • Taking initiative and being responsible
  • Being comfortable with physical, hands on work responsibilities.

Student Grounds Crew

Job Description
The Department of Recreational Sports is currently looking for a qualified individual to fill the Grounds Crew position. The maintenance and upkeep of all of our grounds and fields is essential to the overall participant experience. The Grounds Crew assists in a variety of areas, including, but not limited to:

  • Assist in the mantenance and care of sports-related facility equipment (nets, backboards, e.g.) at the SP Gymnasium.
  • Assist in the maintenance of outdoor facilities, including SP tennis courts; and Bierman, West Bank, and SP fields.
  • Assist is field preparation for various sports at Bierman, West Bank and SP Gym fields.
  • Assist in regular trash removal from field areas.
  • Other responsibilities as assigned.
