INTERMEDIATE LEVEL POSITIONS

Intermediate level positions are a great way to take on more responsibility with the Department of Recreational Sports. A sound knowledge of departmental policies, programs and procedures combined with specific qualities and certifications may be required for employment. Intermediate level positions may also require a prospective employee to give specific examples of his/her qualifications for the position. All intermediate level positions require student employees to be trained in CPR, First Aid, AED, and Bloodborne Pathogens. For students that do not already posess these certifications, training will be provided by the department upon being hired.
Facility Supervisor - St. Paul

Job Description
The Department of Recreational Sports is currently looking for a qualified individual to fill the St. Paul Gymnasium Facility Supervisor position. The St. Paul Gymnasium Facility Supervisor will assist in a variety of areas, including, but not limited to:

  • Supervising all areas of the St. Paul Gymnasium during hours of operation
  • Assume facility opening and/or closing responsibilities
  • Clean, inspect and monitor the operating condition of all fitness equipment as well as activity areas associated with the facility
  • Manage the St. Paul Gymnasium towel service while on duty
  • Complete facility rounds, record participation numbers & data, respond to member inquiries as well as injuries/emergencies
  • Provide equipment set-up and take down for program areas/special events/rentals
  • Assist with enforcing departmental policies and procedures as well as providing model customer service to all members
  • Perform other duties as assigned by the St. Paul Gymnasium staff

Job Requirements
All student employees are required to be trained in CPR, First Aid, AED, and Bloodborne Pathogens. For students that do not already possess these certifications, training will be provided by the department upon being hired. Other requirements related to the position include:

  • Currently enrolled as a student of the University of Minnesota Twin – Cities
  • Be willing to work a minimum of 10 hours per week
  • A desire to work in service oriented recreational sports setting is required
  • Experience with customer service, facility management, and preventative maintenance highly beneficial
