| Intermediate level positions are a great way to take on more responsibility with the Department of Recreational Sports. A sound knowledge of departmental policies, programs and procedures combined with specific qualities and certifications may be required for employment. Intermediate level positions may also require a prospective employee to give specific examples of his/her qualifications for the position. All intermediate level positions require student employees to be trained in CPR, First Aid, AED, and Bloodborne Pathogens. For students that do not already posess these certifications, training will be provided by the department upon being hired. |

Job Description
The Department of Recreational Sports is currently looking for a qualified individual to fill the Birthday Party Host position. The qualified applicant will assist in a variety of areas, including, but not limited to:
- Set-up and clean-up of party area (light custodial following party)
- Entertaining and providing customer service for the youth and families attending the birthdays
- Must be willing to swim with the youth and facilitate age appropriate games
- Organizing and managing party supplies
- Other duties as assigned
Job Requirements
All student employees are required to be trained in CPR, First Aid, AED, and Bloodborne Pathogens. For students that do not already possess these certifications, training will be provided by the department upon being hired. Other requirements related to the position include:
- At least 18 years of age
- Experience working youth ages 5-15.
- Completion of all staff training (approx. 20 hours).
- Experience implementing youth activities and supervising youth in groups of 8 to 20.
- Willing to swim & play with youth.
- Must be flexible, creative and articulate.
- Must be available for the entire summer – vacation time is NOT guaranteed.
- Must be available for staff training
