About Fitness

The Fitness program provides information and training for members of the University community interested in maintaining healthy, active lifestyles. Both the Minneapolis University Recreation and Wellness Center and St. Paul Gymnasium contain state-of-the-art fitness equipment. Free equipment orientations are always available to help acclimate members to our facilities and services, or to provide members with the education and tools necessary to customize current exercise programs. To schedule a Fitness Equipment orientation, contact Aaron Tripp, Fitness Coordinator, at adtripp@umn.edu.

Group Fitness offers a wide variety of class formats to help members establish and maintain healthy exercise habits in a welcoming environment. Find a class format that suits both your schedule and fitness goals.

Fitness Assessment Services provide members with an overview of current fitness levels by executing a collection of fitness tests. Personal Training Services include the design of a customized exercise program combining personal health and fitness goals with fitness assessment results, or the option to meet regularly with your personal trainer in a one-on-one environment. Small Group Training offers classes that provide structured exercise in an intimate environment, meeting the needs of the beginner to the highly skilled athlete.

Every February, the fitness program hosts the annual Tri-U-Mah! Indoor Triathlon This sure is the perfect event to test your multi-sport interest!
