Reaching an Ideal Market

Recreational Sports Participants

18-24 year-old Consumer Category

94% of undergraduates participating in Recreational Sports, and 33% of graduate students participating in Recreational Sports fall into the elusive 18-24 year-old consumer category. That translates into more than 15,000 individuals in the 18-24 year-old consumer category that the Department of Recreational Sports has direct and daily contact with.

Economic Powerhouse

University of Minnesota students contribute $363 million annually into the economy. Away from the influence of home, 89% of students do not live in residence halls and make independent buying decisions that will determine lifelong preferences and spending habits.

Millenial Generation

University of Minnesota students born after 1980 are part of the Millennial Generation, a highly-sociable optimistic, well-educated, collaborative, open-minded, influential, and achievement-oriented group of consumers. This group is the next great buying generation and commands attention from corporate America.
