Summer Youth Programs

University Youth Programs sets aside $11,000.00 each summer to provide some scholarship funds for students who demonstrate genuine financial need. The scholarships will range from $0 to $300.00.

The amount of the award will be based on Youth Program’s assessment of the request, taking into account the Minnesota state guidelines (shown below), the documentation sent to support the request for scholarship, and funds available. Some allowances may be based on individual circumstances.

Submit a 1-page letter with your HARD COPY registration form providing the following information:

Financial documentation must be attached to the letter. A copy of the most recent federal income tax form (1040), showing the name of the student applying for the scholarship as a dependant, is required.

If you are an international student/professor and do not file taxes, please indicate this on your application letter.

If parents file taxes separately, both federal income tax forms are required. If there are special filing circumstances, please call the Program Manager at 612-625-2242.

Please use the chart below to determine the possible amount of your scholarship amount. You will need to send in a check to cover the remaining amount of your registration cost (Registration total cost minus possible scholarship amount) along with your request for assistance and your registration form.

If for some reason your request for a reward is not honored, your registration and payment will be mailed back to you.

The award notification and your confirmation information will be mailed to the current home address if and when the scholarship is awarded.
