Gopher Adventures is an opportunity to discover everything the University has to offer. Enthusiastic leadership, games, top quality facilities, and outdoor fun contribute to a summer program that’s hard to beat. Our young participants will have the chance to run, climb, swim, and play in and around the University in a safe and fun environment. Join us for an action-packed summer adventure that’s about to begin!
Gopher adventures age Groups
Juniors—ages 5 & 6
Gold—ages 7 & 8
Maroon—ages 9 & 10
Seniors—ages 11 & 12
Graduate-ages 13 to 15 (offered only session 1 & session 4)
Rock Climbing Time
All Gopher Adventures groups will discover new heights at the climbing wall at the St. Paul Gymnasium.
Swimming & Pool Time
All Gopher Adventures groups will swim in one of our many pools at the University through-out the week. They will participate in water games and activities. Please note – we do NOT provide swimming lessons during our summer camps. Campers will be required to perform a swimming test each week they attend. If your child is unable or unwilling to complete the swimming test, they will be required to wear a floatation device.
Fun in the Sun
Your children will enjoy all the summertime weather that Minnesota has to offer. They will discover games, both new and old, that will keep them active.
Discover the ‘U’ and More
Groups will take advantage of University facilities, as well as other Twin Cities attractions. Join us as we explore kid-friendly places of interest.
Arts & Crafts
Each group will awaken their imaginations and express themselves by creating a unique piece of art.
 Special Field Trips
Gopher Adventures participants are regularly scheduled for fun and interesting field trips. Our featured trips include the University Showboat, the Old Dutch Potato chip factory, demonstrations with Dr. Stadler in Electrical Engineering, and trips to the one and only Raptor Center of Minnesota.
We will visit the St. Paul Saints stadium, The Twins stadium as well as tours of many of the sports arenas on the University Campus. Many youth will also be touring the new Equine Center on the St. Paul Campus.
